Packout Compact Tool Box - M18 Router Insert Part 1/2 (DIGITAL 3D PRINT FILE ONLY)

THIS IS A DIGITAL STL FILE FOR 3D PRINTING NOT A PHYSICAL PRODUCT. You will not receive a physical product, this is a digital 3D file so you can personally 3D print your own insert.

This is a custom insert that I have designed to fit your Milwaukee Packout Compact Tool Box to store your M18 Router and accompanying kit. It specifically fits the Milwaukee 48228422 PACKOUT Compact Tool Box: https://www.milwaukeetool.com.au/storage/packout/tool-boxes/48228422.html

This design is One Part of a Two Part design:

I wanted to create the ultimate design to store the router and the entire range of Milwaukee's extra bases. I was able to achieve this via the combination of these 2 fully custom designs I've created!

Specifically, the design available on this page is for the UPPER Insert (Insert 1/2). I've designed this insert to suspend from the top of the Ammo Can Packout and hang down similar to the stock tray that originally comes with the Packout. This design will house the Router skin, M18 Battery and Router bits.

The BOTTOM Insert (Insert 2/2) will store your Plunge Router Base, Offset Router Base and all their accessories. This BOTTOM Insert (Insert 2/2) design is a separate Gumroad Listing.

You will ONLY receive the files for the Upper insert when you purchase the files on this page. Extra Details:

To help you with lifting out the upper insert, handles are provided at each end of the insert. To ensure that the upper insert did not interfere with the lower insert, the design required two different depths. These parts are printed individually and then glued together.

This way you don't have to waste time and filament to print a bunch of support material under 2/3 of the design that would otherwise be suspended in the air if it were all printed at once. Files are provided for 2 little feet you can glue onto the bottom after assembly should you like for the insert to sit level on the ground if you remove it from the Packout box.

Modular Design - Router Bit Tray:

For holding your router bit in these trays, you naturally want them to sit securely with a nice friction fit but still be easily removable. To ensure you can achieve this, a file is included that's labelled "Driver Bit - Tolerance Test." This file simply has a range of holes in different diameters that are labelled. You can print this to determine which size hole you would like to use. 

File Size Note:

These are large parts, so you may need to slice them up smaller to get them to fit on your printer. If you would like to see the size of each part, look the at last image above which is dimensioned. If you print the files that have been split already, you can simply glue the halves together.
